Please review these terms and conditions carefully, as by using our website you agree to adhere to them.
Refund Policy
We are confident that you will find all Child Protection Company training, resources and services of the highest possible quality. If, for any reason, you are unhappy with your purchase you have a right to cancel your order for any item purchased on this website for a full refund. To cancel, you can email us or write to us within seven working days of purchase, quoting your order number. This policy does not affect your statutory rights.
Training Course Credits
Individual online course credits have no expiry date but if for any reason we need to change this policy we will give you 30 days notice.
Unlimited Training Package Fair Use Policy
Training credits within an Unlimited Package must not be used by anyone who is not employed (paid or voluntary) by the organisation who purchased the Unlimited Package. Each individual user, within the organisation, is only permitted to take a training course once during the period for which the Unlimited Package is valid.
Unlimited Training Packages are valid for 12 or 24 months, depending on the terms agreed on purchase.
Purchasing Child Protection Company Resources and Services
All on-line card payments and/or purchase orders raised will be invoiced by email to your registered address. All payments are strictly payable 30 days net.
Face to Face Terms and Conditions
Payment Terms:
Payment is required at the time of booking. 30-day payment terms may be available to repeat customers or by prior agreement. All prices quoted assume that training facilities will be provided free of charge.
Cancellations & Refunds:
- We require 28 days' notice if you would like to cancel a course. A cancellation fee of £150 + VAT will be deducted from any refund if insufficient notice is given.
- If cancellation is made with less than 14 days' notice, no refund will be provided.
- All cancellations must be made in writing to hello@smarthorizons.co.uk.
Changes & Cancellations by Smart Horizons:
Smart Horizons will use all reasonable endeavours to ensure training is provided as per the booking. In the unlikely event we need to cancel or reschedule training (e.g., due to trainer illness), we will notify you as soon as possible and work with you to find an alternative date. If a reschedule is not possible, a full refund will be issued.
Other than the compensation stated above, Smart Horizons shall not be liable for any losses due to the cancellation of a course.
Materials & Intellectual Property:
All materials provided during the training (whether printed or electronic) remain the property of Smart Horizons, unless otherwise agreed.
Liability & Participant Responsibilities:
Smart Horizons shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special losses, including (but not limited to) loss of profit, business, or goodwill. Smart Horizons’ total liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with the services shall be limited to the total amount of fees paid for the affected training session.
Smart Horizons is not responsible for how training content is applied in practice. You are responsible for ensuring your staff or participants follow any guidance, safety instructions, or professional advice provided during training.
Confidentiality
We undertake to protect and respect individual disclosures by any staff or organisation on any subject, unless we have significant concern about the safety or security of a child or young person. In this event we will raise our concern directly with you (although there may be exceptional circumstances in which this may not be appropriate) and negotiate a mutually agreed plan of action.
Complaints Procedure
If you are not happy with any aspect of our service, please make your dissatisfaction known. You can do this by speaking or emailing directly to our office staff.
You will receive email or written acknowledgement of receipt within 5 working days along with details as to how the complaint will be dealt with. Within a further 30 days you will receive resolution or details of progress so far. If you are still unhappy you will be given details of who to approach for a review of the matter.
