Who is this course for?

For anyone who comes into contact with children, young people and vulnerable adults during work, leisure or voluntary activities..

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of the course the learner will:

  • Have an awareness of the range of legislation and guidance surrounding safeguarding and the protection of children/vulnerable adults
  • Be able to define the different types of abuse
  • Be able to demonstrate an awareness of the range of indicators of abuse and neglect
  • Be aware of the effects of personal values and attitudes towards abuse
  • Understand their responsibility to report concerns
  • Be aware of the importance of maintaining a child/vulnerable adult focus
  • Be able to demonstrate an awareness of the actions to take in the event of suspected abuse

The course in line with the latest government guidance including Working Together to Safeguard Children 2015 and fulfils the safeguarding outcomes as specified by Ofsted and CQC. It covers everything from concern to referral, so suits the needs of any worker in any field.
